Membership

Petunias Cohabitating

What’s does Membership mean?

There’s a difference between membership in the corporate sense (voting rights, eligibility to serve in various roles) and the spiritual, religious sense (a body of people committed to worshiping in common).

Membership is a personal journey toward increasing commitment. That journey may involve disillusionment, which will test a person’s loyalty, patience, and capacity to forgive.

Unlike joining a club, joining a faith community gives people a place to grow, to share their gifts, and to live out their faith in the community.

We don’t need a church to think for ourselves or to believe whatever we want to believe. We do need a church so that we can be part of a community.
